Im looking for a laptop from preferably bestbuy or newegg. Im not open to using websites like amazon or eBay. I have no idea what to buy, im looking for a laptop thats good for gaming on a budget of around 600 and under... But if its necessary i can go to 850. I want to be able to play games such as battlefield 3 and other high graphic games. If theres no such thing as a good gaming laptop on this budget im willing to buy a desktop which ive heard is cheaper.

Short answer is yes. This isn't a computer per se, it's just the parts. Newegg.com and a few other sites sell the parts individually. If you buy them all from the same place they'll usually ship them all together in a larger box, or boxes if necessary. Each part will come in its own boxing/packaging. If anything, these parts should be cheaper by the time you buy them. The graphics card, I believe, should come down in price as graphics card makers tend to put out their new releases in Fall. I believe that all of these parts will still be available....unless something like the zombie apocalypse happens.

Everyone here will say (I'm darn sure) that you'll be better off building a desktop PC. It's cheaper and more powerful. But will you need a monitor, keyboard and mouse if you choose to build? Or do you already have those?

You're really not going to find anything in that budget range in a laptop format that is going to do well with the type of games you want. With a desktop you can easily get hardware that will play the games at much better framerates and/or resolutions compared to a laptop. Not only are desktops cheaper but they're not constricted by the heat problems that laptops are plagued by.

Now, assuming you already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse... this comes with no hard drive and no operating system. It covers all the other basics though and will play Battlefield 3 on high graphics settings and 1680x1050 at roughly 60fps: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1iptP

You build it yourself. They're not that difficult though. It's just intimidating at the beginning.

The link you sent was wrong. :lol: Can you send one again so we can see the changes that you've made? :)

It's pretty much like slap this thing on and lock this thing up and fastening up screws among others. :) It shouldn't be too hard. The worst part (for me, at the very least) would be properly seating the cooler on the processor. Other than that, it should be a breeze for you. :) Just post here again if you run into some trouble while putting all the pieces together.

And do you think the monitor and processor i chose were fine? Also i noticed on there it doesnt say how many gb's of hard drive the computer would have, does it even have a hard drive right now?

Looks fine. One thing to note though, the hard drive you chose is a laptop hard drive. The price is pretty accurate to what a 1TB drive runs lately so no worries there. Look at 3.5inch drives to fit in the case without an additional hard drive bay adapter, otherwise you'll have to add one of those as well.
