A few days ago my BIOS completely stopped detecting any attached SATA drives. I had not performed a BIOS update or anything, it just stopped detecting them. It does still detect the one IDE drive I have attached (little 4GB drive I just use for swap space).
What are the chances I could get a PCIe SATA card and have it work to connect my HDs? I'm dual-booting Linux Mint XFCE 14 and Win XP, FWIW. One SATA drive has OSes and SW on it and the other is media storage space.
It would be nice not to need to buy a new MOBO just yet.
I can get my mobo model if needed. It's an HP OEM mobo.
