I'm a first time builder and I am trying to figure out which PSU to buy.
MOBO: AsRock Extreme 4 zz7
CPU: i5 2405s (65w)
Case: Phantom 410
GPU: Radeon HD 7870 (possibly)

I was thinking 550w should be fine.
Anyways, I was looking at my case and it has one 4p connector and 4 3p connectors. When I was looking at psu they would only mention how many 4p connectors they had. Am I looking in the wrong category or something? If you could point me to a good psu as well that would be awesome.

the 3-pin connectors go into the motherboard, not the PSU. The 4-pin connectors can go into the motherboard or the PSU, although motherboard is preferred.

Your motherboard has -
- 2 x CPU Fan connectors (1 x 4-pin, 1 x 3-pin)
- 3 x Chassis Fan connectors (1 x 4-pin, 2 x 3-pin)
- 1 x Power Fan connector (3-pin)

So, your motherboard has enough connectors for your case's fans. :D

This answer was really helpful too. So when I look up psu to buy will the 3-pin connectors be listed in the details? Because everytime I look on newegg or amazon it only lists 4-pin connectors.
