What is your routers IP address?

i have dvg6004s , its default ip address is 192.168.8.254 . i have changed my ipv4 to 192.168.8.70 . Basically when i write the default ip address in the web browser i should get a configuration menu of the dvg but instead i get "page not found" . to check whether the device is connected i pinged 192.168.8.254 from my cmd line , it shows a good and constant ping . but then again it doesnt open the configuration menu . i doing all this through LAN ie physical connection. May be the firmware is lost but then if it is lost how can i ping it on 8.254 . is there a way to open configurations menu in command prompt instead of web browser????? or any help????

can you post a screen shot of your IP info from DHCP? If you are having problems with this I think CLI may be a bit challenging.

Also initially i was getting the configuration menu by typing 192.168.8.254 . i had some incoming calls issue from the pap2 connected to it so i reset by dvg , it was working fine even then , i reset it 2 or 3 times and it worked fine but when i did it the 4th time , i couldnt open my dvg in the web browser but still i got the ping fromm command line

Until you respond to my last post so I can understand your networks topology, I have no ideas.

the point is that you dont need to understand the network topology because i havent connected the dvg 6004s router to any network . i want to 1st configure it and then connect it to a network . but the configuration is the problem as the web browser is not opening the default ip address of the router which is 192.168.8.254

"the manual specifically states not to use 192.168.(1-8).(1-254)"----wrong---- the manual says inorder to configure your dvg connect one end of lan cable to lan port in dvg and other end of cable to your comp lan . go to connections and settings and change your comp's lan ip address to 192.168.8.xxx , then go to web browser and type 192.168.8.254 to enter the configuration menu of the router.

im doing all this but the problem is that im not getting the configuration menu........ instead im getting page not found .

Please avoid IP address 192.168.
0.1-192.168.8.254 (You may need
to change the settings of IP sharing or change SIP series Gateway
LAN Port IP address)

^ Right from your manual. Anyway, port span the ip for 80-90, 8080.

Sorry I meant scan, not span. Use nmap/zenmap. Imgur link works.
