I'm building a pc for a friend of mine and I'm kind of in-between a problem, now it's mostly because of the budget of 406,50£ (500€+-): I'm not sure what Wattage I should use, if anyone has a safe number please tell me! The build is as it follows w/ links to amazon (you can comment on that too):

CPU: 162,96£ Intel Core i5 3570 3.40GHz ( www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0083U94D8 )
GPU: 82,95£ Gigabyte GTX 650 1GB 1.10GHz ( www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0099AOAQC )
MoBo: 48,91£ ASRock P67 PRO3 SE ATX ( www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004XZVFZW )
PSU: 59,27£ Corsair CX600W 80+ Bronze ( www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ALYOTTI )
RAM: 41,77£ Corsair Vengeance Gold 2x4GB ( www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006E0670W )

TOTAL: 395,86£

PS.: I couldn't find a PSU Category but I think this might fit in Components better anyway...
PPS.: I live in Portugal, so the product can't come from the US, EU only, and if you do find something not Amazon, please make sure it ships to Portugal. And yes, I am thinking of Overclocking my GPU, can't believe I forgot to put that in here... :)

Generally the biggest power drain is the Video Card and/or CPU.

Nvidia recommends a PSU rated at no less then 400Watts with a minimum of 20Amps on the +12V rail

The CX600 easily meets the min. Wattage and Amperage for your build at 600W/46amps.

If money is a factor, that build could be powered just fine by one of these (49.82)

Corsair CX500M 500W/38amps
Or, a step up to a Bently/RR IMHO, even though a little less wattage, (57.31) (Seasonic D12ll 430 430W/34amps combined

The Corsair CX Series Modular CX600M (SKU# 75-002018 / CP-9020060), with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 46 Amps and with two (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is way more than sufficient to power your system configuration with a single GeForce GTX 650 graphics card.

Thank you everyone for your help! :) only thing I suppose I forgot to add that I will be at least overclocking the gpu, nothing planned for the cpu at all (not a K series anyway hehe), will 500W 80+ Bronze still be enough? (which btw is only REALLY 400W (500x0.80€))

You didn't mention OCing. in the original post.
The CX500M is NOT a "wannabe" 500 watt unit. It's little brother, the 430, was tested by johnnyguru.com and passed all the tests, the 500 should do the same.
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story3&reid=239
It should have enough power to OC that mid-range card but if you want to be on the safe side get the 600watter that you already picked.
The 430 Seasonic might not be a good choice if you are OCing. anything; right on the edge of not enough power: Might work/Might not and if it didn't it would end up a waste of time and money.

SR-71, Don't think he can buy from the egg, they don't ship oversees. Amazon.uk doesn't list that PSU (helluva deal!). Any other suggestions?
I gotta go do some work. Back later.

Sorry for not saying I was thinking of Overclocking, I honestly had no idea it would be such a big deal, until I actually thought of HOW you Overclock, kinda feel bad now... And @Blackbird's post, does scan also ship for Portugal as Amazon does? If not or if the shipping price is superior to the one of Amazon, I can't even get it :| guess that's another thing I forgot, I'm going to edit that first post :p & as for not forgetting to put a solution, will it affect people from posting anything if I put this as solved, or will this close?

Update: (Should have updated this a long time ago but honestly forgot about this thread :( )

I'm getting an XFX PRO850 Core Edition (850W 80+ Bronze), my reasons are:

Cheaper than a Corsair of the same 850W;
From what I've been seeing, it has good quality;
Future-proof;
I decided I'm buying an R9 280X and maybe an F 8350, but I'm still not sure on the processor side most likely will end up buying an 3570K or 3550, however GPU I am sure it's R9 280X.

Just wanted to ask your opinion on the XFX PSU I choose :) (I hope it was a good one)

EDIT: This is no longer about my friend's Build, right now this is about my 850€/710£/750-780$ build.
The $ price is excluding taxes that you would normally pay in the US as an added cost.

For a system using a single Radeon R9 280X graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 750 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 42 Amps or greater and have at least one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the most critical factor.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

The XFX Pro Series Core Edition 850W (P1-850S-NLB9) power supply unit, with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 70 Amps and with two 6-pin and two (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is way more than sufficient to power your system configuration with a single Radeon R9 280X graphics card.

All of XFX's PSUs are made by Seasonic. Your choice is a great one since Seasonic is considered to be one of the best PSU manufacturers.

Hum, just to be sure, when you say "two (6+2)-pin PCI Express..." that's two 8-pin right? because from what you wrote, I need a 6-pin connector coupled with a 8-pin connector.

A (6+2)-pin PCI-E power connector can be used as either a 6-pin PCI-E power connector or an 8-pin PCI-E power connector.
