He wants to play arma 2 dazy (?) and mindcraft. His pc lags real bad on minecraft. Its an older gateway. Already had more ram? Gigs? I dont know what you call it:(. Id like to buy a good gamer computer with a good graphics card thing..? This site came up on google so I registered so I could ask you computer gamer guys for help. Im not a troll or a fake as someone said :(. Why is this place so hostile? Im only looking for help :(

I'd have a talk with the manager of the store, that system is overkill in the worst degree, 32GB of DRAM is ridiculous, 8 is more than sufficient. You won't find any real decent gaming systems in a store, best bet may be to ask around and see if you can find through a friend or something, someone who can put a system together...They should be able to build a decent system for $6-700 at most, then if your grandson wants better, find some jobs for him to do or something where he can earn mony, otherwise he may never leave the computer

That would vastly depend on your budget. About +$750 will work well, although my knowledge regarding building computers is very limited. You could also go for far less than $750, however at that point it will rapidly become obsolete and need upgrading sooner.

That depends on a LOT of things. (disclaimer - I am a grandparent)

What is your budget?
How old is he?
How tech savvy are his parents?
How tech savvy is he?
What else does he do with a PC? (no...it is NOT just playing a game)

Not tech savvy at all :( he is 13. He really does nothing else on the old pc i have. He uses my ipad to surf the net. He is really into his xbox 360 but really wants to play this arma game. The guy at best buy suggested an Asus 1306416564..? It costs $999.99. He said it would work well for these games? Thats alot of money to just take this guys word on. I dont really have that kind of money but will get it if this is what is needed to play these games. Its a long story but he deserves this and I want to make it happen. I dont want to buy the wrong thing and waste money. I know nothing about rams or gigs or graphic cards. Thank you for talking to me about this

$999....just trying to make a sale. That guy knows little more than your grandson. Seriously.

Not knowing the specific requirements of that game, but you could probably get away with a PC of just over 1/2 that $999.

Again, it depends on the budget. Personally, I would build a custom PC as pre-built ones tend to be extremely overpriced, or come with features you don't need. I could try to throw an example PC together on http://pcpartpicker.com/, but as mentioned would need a budget.

Thank you for your input. I really do not know anyone to ask regarding a system but I guess I could try one of these repair shops..?

If you had 800 or so to spend is there a computer you would buy on line for games...?

I would build a custom PC, prebuilt PC's tend to be overpriced and you don't tend to get your moneys worth out of them. I was able to find a decent PC though for $804, not including taxes, shipping, or an Operating System.

->iBUYPOWER Computer :: AMD FX 8-Core Configurator http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/AMD_FX_8-Core_Configurator/w/180037

Alternatively, if you are willing to buy the parts individually and assemble them yourself, or get someone else to do it, there is this.

I don't know a whole lot about building PCs, but I'm sure both of these would suffice. I would wait for a second opinion, however, before making any final purchases.

Well on the right settings, absolutely any computer can run Mc, I have an extremely old Dell Inspiron and it still runs it just fine. You won't need to spend all that much for a good enough pc to run it, all apple products are perfect for playing Minecraft, you can't get any faster than Macintosh
