I want to remove thermal paste from my AMD CPU so I can put in my Hyper 212 Evo cooler. But I was coming back from visiting my mom and rushed into Rite-Aid to get some rubbing alcohol and Q-Tips but it's only the 70% alcohol. So I was wondering can I still use the 70% rubbing alcohol or do I have to go back and exchange it? Also can I use the Q-Tips or do I have to find coffee filters as I don't think I have any left.

If I could use them it would be great as I can avoid the heat tomorrow.

It will be fine :) best are alcohol swabs. Just make sure there is no residue, thermal or cotton.

You can also use alcohol and an old, clean rag. As he said above, just make sure there is nothing left on the CPU. The reason alcohol is used is because it evaporates quickly, so no potential damage from water moisture hanging around to short circuit anything.
