Hi guys,
I've bought myself a new motherboard and a pci-e adapter for USB3.0 so I expected a huge increase of speed. However, the speed has not increased a lot, I'm not sure if it increased at all (while moving a 2gig movie from external hard drive Seagate expansion 500GB the speed was around 8MB/s). Have I done anything wrong? Or it should be that way?

Solution
some usb ports are faster then other due to the controller chip they use.

also unless your using a usb 3.0 ext hdd with a usb 3.0 port on your pc. your not going to get usb 3.0 speeds. it will instead run at usb 2.0 speeds.

Both the drive and the port are 3.0, turned out it was a software problem.
