i'm interested on building a second computer and i've decided to go with a GTX 660 on 1366x768 (I know that 1080p is a lot better but the budget restricts me). Now, my main concern is the bottlenecking. In lower resolutions, CPU load is heavier than than in higher resolutions. I don't need to know the performance of the GTX 660 because I already know it, I just want to know if an FX6300 in 768p will bottleneck a GTX660 and will restrict it to its full potential.

Solution
it will bottleneck a little, but should still offer good performance, and you can overclock it easily. at that res you could get away with a gtx650 or 650 boost if you wanted to put more toward the cpu and get an i5.

Does not matter. If you can't afford a better monitor, you will not afford i5/i7 as well (that is the only upgrade path for your CPU as upgrading to 8350 would not help at all in this situation).

The other thing, 1366x768 is such a low resolution that you will not notice any frame drops even with 6300+660.

Not at all. If u find no lag spikes in games in 1080p go anyway. I don't care fps and I would get along well with my rig if it's smooth.

Why not spend a little bit on a good CPU cooler and overclock your 6300, that should be do sth good.
