Summary: I get ~5000 score on firestrike (3d mark). I built this PC January 2012 and it still runs fairly well with most games on maxed settings when nothing major is going on but the framerates drop pretty quick when getting into large battles (SC2, PS2, to an extent with Diablo). I'm pretty sure I am ready to upgrade to an intel processor and possibly another GTX 660 (sli) or a single upgraded nvidia gpu.

I'd like to be able to game with one monitor at 1080p, maxed settings while still getting 55-60fps even in large battles.

Also it would be cool to get between 8,000+pts on firestrike if possible- but if I am crazy for thinking I could see that much of an upgrade with my budget just let me know what you would do to create a badass gaming machine and maybe ill wait and save a little more money.

All advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Approximate Purchase Date: this week/month

Budget Range: $1000-$1200 (for upgrades)- if a little more is needed to get the results I want

System Usage from Most to Least Important: 1080p gaming, one monitor

Are you buying a monitor: Not included in this budget but- I am interested in upgrading to a 120hz monitor if it'll eliminate screen tearing/vsync (noticable difference to performance?)

Parts to Upgrade: CPU, Motherboard, GPU -I think I want to go Haswell?

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg

Location: Brooklyn, New York

Parts Preferences: Intel CPU, Nvidia GPU

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI: Maybe

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, Planetside 2 (sometimes), It'd be cool if I could get some decent scores on 3d mark: fire strike

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: not happy with performance, I'd like to have something that will run 1080p games with 55-60fps on maxed settings even in large battles
