I have an nvidia 650 ti, an i5-3450 the z77 extreme 4 motherboard and 8 gigs of ram yet a lot of the games i play are still super laggy like Battlefield 3, and even battlefront 2 sometimes. My friend said this could be caused if i didnt have all my motherboard drivers up to date, even the ones i dont use, I was wondering if any one else had an opinion on what could be causing the lag any help would be appreciated.

Do you have graphics on ultra or AA on? 30 fps sounds ok for that card depending on what you have resolution and settings on. I doubt it's your motherboard. Also I wouldn't consider 30 fps super laggy. It's certainly playable at that frame rate as long as its sustainable. Again depending on your settings I think your fps is where it should be for that card.

At high graphics I don't think you can expect anything more than 45fps on either of those games with a 650. The few missing fps may be caused by crowded memory or just general fragmentation. Try a defrag. I am almost certain the problem is with your RAM. What are the specs of the RAM itself? If it's minimum DDR3 1333 then I might be mistaken. Other than that there could be a thousand different reasons. If you really can't come to a rational conclusion I would suggest a defrag of all your drives, re-installation of the game and maybe even the drivers themselves. (Make sure you don't have 400 unnecessary apps running in the background like my mother's laptop. xD)
