If they both run Windows 7 or 8, you could set up a homegroup on your home network which will allow file sharing between them. However unless you make use of some tricky networking tricks like VPN's and such you wouldn't be able to get this functionality while they are on separate networks.

you can upload the files onto a website then download them onto your laptop, or you can use a usb flash drive and transfer them

Is that the only way? No way of syncing them together to where I can access or add files as I need too?
