Hi
My local memory express is having a clearance sale and there is a refurbished Sapphire 7970 oc for 249.99. I would like to know your guys opinion on whether or not it would be safe to buy or if i should just get a gtx 760 for the same price.

Solution
If it has some sort of warranty or atleast a 30-return policy I would go for it, and test the hell our of it to make sure its ok before either expires. $250 for a 7970 is a good deal.

It has a 60 day limited warranty and a 7 day return policy. I think i'll go get it tomorrow.

I have never had any luck with refurbed parts. I have bought a couple of refurbished motherboards, both were DOA, and a refurbed ATI X1950PRO video card several years ago that worked for the desktop and normal windows use, but had artifacts during game play.
My experience....its simply not worth trouble.

I've had great experiences with every return I've bought. Including electronics. But they are manufacture refurbished and I get a new one if it's broke. Never bought return computer parts though. but since shipping cost don't apply for the return is go for it
