I need help choosing between the two choices for my new micro ATX build:

1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131988&Tpk=asus%20q87&IsVirtualParent=1
plus http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132013

2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128604

My CPU will be Intel i7 4770 with no overclocking. I am audiophile so I am looking for good quality sound for music playback and gaming. Option #1 will cost $25 less than #2. I heard Gigabyte has the best onboard audio solution. However, isn't the separate sound card (ASUS Xonar DS) better than the onboard Creative Sound Core 3D on the Gigabyte motherboard? What are the pros and cons of each option?

If you are getting i7-4770 and dont want to overclock , you should go ahead and get Haswell Xeon E3-1240 v3 , and you will save $40 . it is the same cpu with no graphics in the CPU..

here is a comparison :

If you dont overclock and dont need in cpu Graphics .. then get the Xeons.

Adding a sound car is better but you need to compae the right card .. the Gigayte has 600 ohms Amplifier and good quality components. is well worth 70$-$100 sound card. so the sound car you choose must be better than that.

I'd say the Asus, the GB is more than what you want need, and get the sound card, much better sound....Why? Taking in the earlier things thrown to you, let's see, for starters the 4770 doesn't OC so we don't have to worry about that, your DRAM selection is good for the 4770, because it CAN'T run 2400 let alone 2933 or anything like that (a CPU OC would be needed)....ah regardless, would choose the Asus and S/card
