Hello, I ve bought the new Toshiba Satellite L 50 - A - 111: http://www.toshiba.pt/laptops/satellite/satellite-l50-a/satellite-l50-a-111/. And so i bought a Memory module: KINGSTON SODIMM DDR3 - 4GB - 1600Mhz CL11 1.5V - PC3 - 12800 - 204 PIN.

The laptop would not boot using this ram module, either it be on the slot 2 along with the pre installed one, alone or in slot 1 instead of slot 2. It would turn on for 2 seconds and shut down.

Could this be related to the voltage since it specifies DDR3L ram in computer specs, using the CPU-Z software i saw that the current module uses 1.28V at each core.

I havent had the chance to try this module in another laptop yet, but i will soon. Do i need to buy a new memory module? Could it be 1.25v or 1.35v?

Thank you for your help regarding this subject.

Laptops can be very picky and like with desktops, it's not a good idea to mix sticks, since DRAM in laptops runs strictly at stock, it's noyt a bad idea to see what the maker recommends since you can't make adjustments to voltages and such

Perhaps its a good ideia to contact Toshiba support, just in case the new one fails again. I thought that i could mix modules, as long as frequencies match, but i never tought of voltage and other aspects. The pre installed one is from samsung by the way. Thank you.
