how would you few if ms killed the desktop? (i would hate it.)

how do you guys few about that? Microsoft has plans on replacing the desktop with metro. I personally I hate that idea. but maybe you guys "don't care?" what is you guys opinions?

Microsoft gives and Microsoft takes away. What is a desktop but a page in which you run your apps? What difference does it make as long as you can still run your apps? And isn't it more important to be able to find your apps when you need them. Isn't it cool how easy it is to set up your start page and how it is the same on all your Windows 8/RT computers (with 8.1). Add an App on your Windows 8 laptop and when you get home the app is already installed on your desktop and right on the start page where you want it? And aren't live apps really cool. How hot is it right now? Well open my start page and look at that I don't even have to open the app to see the weather report.
