I have motherboard DB75EN, using the inbuilt sound card.

Actually I'm using line out port for a Philips headphone,

& line in port to connect(My sound manager gives the option to connect front speaker in line in) the creative speaker which is around 5-6years old. may be more than that.

I didn't notice anything before 2days. But in past 2 days I notice some cracking sound from my speaker. I checked the speaker by connecting it to the line out port and remove everything that is from line in or mic ports. But still have a cracking sound slight at 40% of sound and after 50% it is noticeable. But In my Philips headphone there has no problem at all whether I connect it in line in or line out port.

So is this the problem of my sound card or my speaker???

Please friends reply as soon as possible......

I was thinking that I have damaged my sound card. Because I'm using "Line In" as "Line out" & The default "Line out" is also working as "Line out".

So If the sound manager provides option to use "Line in" and "Line out" both ports as "Line out", then is this configuration of playing two sound output device at a time can be the reason to damage my card??
One sound card playing one creative speaker in "Line in" port and a Philips over the ear headphone in "Line Out" port simultaneously.

I know "Line in" port provides less voltage so I used creative speaker in "Line In", because it is an amplifier and will not be problem if less voltage.

I can't notice any problem in headphone in maximum volume also. I didn't test headphone connecting in "Line in" port, because it provide low voltage and volume comes low as a result.
