I know the requirements arent out yet. This will be my first gaming pc and id like to get some opinions from pc guys. Ive done tons of research and these are the parts ive picked out for my rig.

i7 4770k
7970 OC w/ boost
16 GB Patriot Ram

I just want to be able to run bf4 on med to high with over 120 fps and would like to know if this will be possible on the 7970 or if i should get a different card. Before you say about the processor, i will be doing video editing for youtube and school, so i need an i7. I will be overclocking (Probably not extreme, but id like to get more performance than what i payed for), and ive gotten a great cooler for the job. (Kraken x60) Ill only be gaming at 1080p. Ill also be playing games like Arma 3 and Dayz, but BF4 will be my primary game. Im NOT interested in the never settle bundle by AMD, i could care less about those games. I was considering a 770, since its ever so slightly better than the 7970 at some things, but the 7970 is about 40$ cheaper where i live, comes with the games that i can sell and get other things, and BF4 will be optimized for AMD so im kid of in a pickle... Any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks! :)

Initially there were reports that BF4 was going to be "optimized" by AMD. However, that turned out not to be true. Both, Nvidia and AMD will have access to BF4 before it is released. So, that's not an issue.

Since you are gaming on a 120Hz monitor (assuming so cuz you mentioned 120fps) then I'd suggest the 770. I know it's more expensive but if you want to get those high fps in Med/High then I'd suggest getting more power. If you do go with the 7970OC w/ boost then you also have a beast of a GPU and it'll pocket you some nice money. Although saving money doesn't seem to be the point of this build. haha.

What is your monitor?

Budget is about $2600. This set up with all my other parts (Starting from scratch) $2,475.10

And no i do not, the nearest one is about 50 miles away :c Need more of those.

And thanks for telling me about the Bf4 optimization thing.
Ive been saving up for 2 years for this build and i want something that will last me about 3-4 without having to upgrade :p

This is coming from a console gamer, so im willing to turn down all those fancy AA and Filters and crap to get my FPS. I just want a card that could be future proof in a way since i dont plan on playing on ultra, because ill probably be recording some gameplay as well.

It's hard, if possible, to find reviews of a 770 gaming on Medium settings. I still recommend the higher GPU so you can get the most out of your monitor. Let's face it, you didn't buy a 144Hz monitor to game at 100fps, I'm assuming you want to push it to 120+fps.

So you're coming from console gaming....you'll be blown away at the graphic details in your build. Even when I switch from Med to High or High to Ultra I still feel that Holy SH#&.

The components you have listed so far will last at least 4 years. Even today you could buy a Sandy Bridge CPU and it'd trade blows with a 2 years newer Haswell CPU.

Sandy Bridge is just wonderful, i was thinking of going for one if the 4770k wasnt so good at editing.
I think ill go with the 7970 for now, or just wait for amds next series of gpus which will hopefully be amazing. Theyre hinting at bf4 being in a future never settle bundle, which makes sense since the gpus are launching near october. If they arent any good, in the future ill probably get another 7970 which will just be amazing at 1080p. Thanks for all your help man, much appreciated :)
