Hello, I'm in a little confusion about which one to get. I currently have Asrock Z77 OC formula paired with 3770k with 7970GHz gpu. As mentioned earlier thread I am not getting very good picture quality neither in gaming nor video streaming. 7970GHz is doing exactly what it should. I'm getting smoother gaming, higher fps, being able to apply MSAA to much higher level and many more but the image quality is not as good as i7-860+6970+dp55kg. Picture quality in that rig was much superior than the one I am currently using. CCC tweaking with every setting dosent return that picture quality either. This is understandable because asrock oc formula had been intended for the overclocking enthusiast and if someone look at in between two pci 16 slots, not much component will be seen unlike Asus Mximas V Extreme where lots of mini IC's along with top notch capacitors are found. Considering the price of the mobo on the other hand i am thinking to switch to more future oriented Z87 platform from last ever intel board Z87KLT where more sata 3.0, thunderbolt and other features are added. Besides Intels build quality beyond any question. But this also force me buying 4770k and there is hardly any reason to switch for mere 5-10% upgarde with increased heating. I cant really decide at this point which one to get. Asus maximus v extreme or intel z87klt based upgrade.

Solution
If you'll want to OC or use higher end DRAM you want the Asus, Intel mobos are for purely stock use, little to nothing goes into OCing or DRAM features
