Connected to TV via HDMI, no signal

I just built my first gaming pc and connected it to my TV via HDMI. The boot scrren appeared perfectly fine but didn't list my ssd and stated "NO Optical drive". After taking the panel off i found the sata cable for the optical drive and ssd had come out, so i plugged them back in and started the system again. Now there is no signal on the tv. I have taken out all the components and everything is connected as it should be. the motherboard Dram light is green, the optical drive opens and the fans are working. Why has the signal gone now? btw i have tried my ps3 with the hdmi and it works so its not a connection issue regarding the TV.

There is nothing wrong with the ram, it clicked in place on both sides and the system recognised it the first time it booted so there's no compatibility issue.

I didn't mean something was wrong with the display, something is wrong or misconfigured with the graphics card. Give some more info so you can be better assisted. PC specs, OS, something to work with. If you dont have windows installed its no use talking about drivers and software. Otherwise a faulty card maybe? All the parts are new? Do you have windows installed in your hard drive? Can you go to safe mode?

aaaahhhhhh I see... nevermind what I wrote, try reseting the bios of your mobo

I have taken the graphics card out and put it back in. It is connected and won't go any further into the motherboard slot. I have also checked the power connector to the graphics card and it is in properly, in fact it seems to have clicked in. There's no signal on the TV from the graphics card OR the motherboard (not sure which one i should be using)

You should be using the graphics card slot for your HDMI. Can you try it on a monitor other than the TV you are using? You really have to figure a way to perform a fresh and clean install of your latest nvidia card drivers..

Unfortunately i don't have a modern monitor which connects to my motherboard. if it had not worked on the TV then i could understand that it's the drivers, but it was working just before i connected the optical drive and ssd which has nothing to do with display :/

CPU - i5 3570k
Graphics Card - MSI Nvidia gtx660 Twin Frozr 2gb
Motherboard - Asus P8z77-i deluxe
Memory - g skill 2x4gb trident x
CPU cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212
Power Supply - Seasonic 660 Watt 80 Plus Platinum
SSD Drive - Samsung 840 Series Pro 128gb
Optical Drive - Asus drw-24b5st 24x internal

I have a windows 7 professional disk to install, all the fans work. the Dram light on the motherboard flashes red for a second upon startup and then goes off. When the display came up before it stated my CPU, motherboard and ram so they are all compatible. It didn't state my graphics card although the fans on it run and it is connected to the power supply via the correct PCI connector.

Ok, your CPU has onboard intel graphics. Try starting your pc WITHOUT the graphics card (take it out completely) , that mean you should connect the HDMI to the TV from the motherboards slot. If it starts, then possible the gpu has a problem. Gpu fans running doesnt mean the card its ok.
