Is the core really unlocked?

Hi guys,
so I've bought myself a new motherboard and I've found a new feature that's rather exciting - it's called UCC - a core unlocker. I have a old Phenom 8650 tri-core, which is basically a quad core cpu with one core disabled, so the mobo's function should be exactly for me. So I've unlocked the core, but what now? Is it possible to check if it's working, or should it be like a invisible performance boost? CPU-Z still says I've got 3 cores and 3 threads.

Solution
If it was truly unlocked CPU-Z would show 4 cores not 3. Not all CPU's can be unlocked. What does task manager show does it still show 3 cores? No it would not be invisible if successful it will show 4.

Where can i find the number of cores in the task manager? Never done that.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Right click on Task Bar and then left click on Task Manager on the pop up. From There Click on Performance and lower right of the Performance Tab it will show how many Cores and Logical Processors. If it still Shows 3 and 3 then it did not unlock.
