I'm looking to upgrade my computer so I can play current games on it at a reasonable speed and also use it for music software (to mix and master demos)

I run on:

System Model: MEDIONPC MS-7616 1.0

Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit)
3 GB RAM
Motherboard: MEDIONPC MS-7616 1.0
Processor: 2.93 gigahertz Intel Core i3 530
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce G210

I was looking at a budget of £500/600 - Is that fair or is that not enough?

I apologise but I'm incredibly new to this, I've helped build one in the past, but I didn't buy the parts, only fitted them...

If there's anything else I've missed off please tell me

I appreciate anyones help

thanks in advance

The i3 you have is a 1156 socket and is at end of life. To replace it you would probably want to get an i5 which will set you back £160-190 if you can find one.

You only have 3Gb ram which you might get away with but really I would budget for 8Gb for a gaming machine which would be around £60

To use 8Gb you need a 64bit OS so will have to budget for that - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit SP1 - OEM £70

Sure as s**t the PSU would need to be replaced - £60

And finally GPU - £220-£300 for mid/high best bang for buck card

That would be around £600 pounds and you still have your old box, motherboard and drives

Might be better to go new build but you could try the upgrades other than CPU and see how you get on then get a new...
