How long does it generally take once you have the components?
Is it easy to go wrong?
Sorry if this seems dumb but I'm a n00b

Solution
Don't rush it. I could build an average machine in 1/2 hour but the wiring would be a complete mess. Take your time and enjoy it.

These days it's a lot more difficult to go wrong. If someting doesn't fit don't force it, make sure it's the right way round i.e. ram

It's very simple. I completed my first build about a year ago. it also took me about 2 hours the first time. 3 builds later, I can do it in half the time. Just screw everything in place and then plug everything together.

+1 Agree. Getting the wiring neat and hidden does take some time but in the end it make for a much better looking PC and give it a better air flow if the wires are out of the way.
