So im building a new PC; and believe me I have no idea how to fit the parts together (sockets wise).
Ive always been a laptop user and am building my second desktop; can anyone tell me which GPU I should get for my motherboard bundle, and give me an estimate on how much stronger will the desktop be compared to my laptop ?

If you have the money i would suggest either a GTX 660 or the new 760, both of those will out play your laptop most likely but the 650 Ti Boost is a good card for the money.
It helps a lot if you have the time to just shop around and look at reviews and forums from multiple websites

Nah mate Australia
Do you have a range of money that you are going to spend?

you can get a 660ti for £180 now which is a pretty solid card for the price, or you could get a 760 for £200. Both are good mid range cards that can be overclocked to match a 670.

I agree with Rohry on the matter of the GPU. I think that it should be said that you don't need a GPU with the A10 APU. If you're looking to have a discrete graphics card I would recommend a different MOBO and CPU. Like ASrock LGA1155 Extreme3 and a i5-3350P.

500; I was thinking I need 100 for a Case and PSU therefore max I can spend is 170 on a GPU

Lets change things then; who can show me a decent set up for 500 pounds that is high end?

£500 for a high end build is slightly unrealistic, you could get a i5 and make use of the hd 4000 graphics and buy a GPU later when you have a bit more to spend.

This is what i am looking at myself after doing many hours of researching

$1097 Aussie dollars but if you change it to UK its 673 pounds excluding the Case and PSU which is good. So if you place a GPU you want and if you don't need an OS or Monitor remove those and you have a fine build! But also change the ram to 2x4 im yet to do that but change it to a Corsair 2x4
