For 400 dollars, this laptop from Asus is the best one i can get with a 17" screen and it is much much better than the two laptops you selected earlier. This has a 2nd Gen i3 which is much better than the two processors you selected, so if you are not into gaming, nothing beats this laptop for that price. Are you buying a laptop? Because these two are not desktop processors. They are the processors meant to be used in laptops. If you are building a PC then these two would not be compatible with a desktop motherboard CPU.

You need to clear that whether you are getting a Laptop or building a Desktop PC?

Out of these two, the AMD one should be better as it has 4 cores and should be able to multi-task a lot better.

Can you also tell me what is your budget for buying a laptop, because these two CPU's are not even close to what I would personally get, so tell me your budget, i might be able to look a better laptop for you for that price.

thanks for the quick replys . I thought the AMD one should be better too as it has 4 cores but my sister says intel is a better brand. She only goes by brand and not performance . I am able to spend $400. but wanted a 17inch screen

these are the two i was looking at Toshiba Satin Black 17.3" C75D-A7223 at walmart . com and Toshiba Satellite C70-ABT2N11 Laptop at Toshiba direct . com

There is a button next to the answer in which it is written "Pick As The Solution" . The button looks something like the image below :
