I'm going to purchase this at my local microcenter because it bundles with motherboard for cheap. 4670k = $200 vs 3570k = $190.

mATX case
8gb ddr3-1600mhz
radeon 7870 2gb
750w psu

4670k will be bundled with This

3570k will be bundled with This

Everyday use with some some gaming and movie watching.
No streaming, video encoding/decoding

Both motherboards are around $40-$50 with the bundle

I heard some negatives about haswell and that they run hotter and etc..
I plan to not overclock/overclock only a little bit

Solution
This should be the best CPU + Mobo Combo for that price, considering that you are not into overclocking. The performance of the 4570 is very close to the 4670K. Just the 4670K can be overclocked, but at this budget, you simply cannot buy a "K" series processor with a overclocking capable motherboard.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($159.99 @ Microcenter)
Motherboard: ASRock H87 Pro4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($77.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $237.98

First of all go for Haswell. It is 10% faster than Ivy Bridge and overclocks decently. It does not hit extreme levels but manages to get to 4.4 GHz with no troubles.

One more thing, buy CPU and Motherboard separately in this scenario because both the motherboard do not support overclocking.
One is H77 Chipset Motherboard (For LGA 1155 Socket - Ivy Bridge), the other one is ASRock H87 Pro4 which is H87 Chipset Motherboard (Equivalent of H77 but for Haswell CPUs - LGA 1150).

To overclock a CPU properly you need Z77 / Z87 Chipset MB depending on your choice.

I would recommend Core i5 4670K along with ASRock Z87 Pro4 Motherboard to get to decent clock speeds.
Buying a CPU with unlocked multiplier (4670'K' instead of 4670) along with locked motherboard is foolishness which for some reason I too did long ago and wasted some money due to that.

What is your budget for the whole Motherboard + CPU combo. We might be able to suggest something better for the same price because i would not suggest either combination, there is no point in getting the "K" processor and pairing it with an H87 or H77 motherboard. Just tell us the budget and we will take care of the rest. I am sure we will not leave you disappointed. :)

+1
I agreed.
Onething more the incoming generation BROADWELL heard coming in 1150 socket. So it will help to easily upgrade to next gen.
Definitely go with 4th gen.
I hope it helps.
Thank you.

Honestly,
Like 270 for both cpu and mobo. :/

Solution

3.2 GHz Quad Core is too weak these days.

You should rather suggest locked variant of exact i5 4670K which is i5 4670.
The card is locked at 3.4 GHz and boosts to 3.8 GHz which seem to be more decent overall.

However I would highly suggest to get overclock supporting variants if one is going to buy a gaming / professional PC. It is just more performance for free. 4.4 GHz or even 4.3 GHz make a difference when compared to 3.6 GHz Boost of 4570.

We should let him get us his budget and then suggest a combo based on it. :)

Thanks for the link
But I am using micro atx
Like I said, I don't really plan on overclocking

I would get the 4670 non k but it doesnt come with $40 bundle savings.

So, you should go for this one instead, if you would be fine with a B85 Motherboard. It still has 4 Sata Ports which would be just enough for any build right now.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($209.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI B85M-E33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($67.24 @ Amazon)
Total: $277.23
