After sending back my last attempt at a video card, see here

I am about to order another one. While the HIS I returned could well have been a defective unit, I'm a bit gun shy about simply replacing it, so am considering these two units instead:
http://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GeForce-PCI-Express-Graphics-GV-N65TOC-1GI/dp/B009L946F6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2STUJFKULTMB3&coliid=I77NKUZ7JRDW9
or
http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-11201-17-20G/dp/B00A0HZOEA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2STUJFKULTMB3&coliid=I1CV74ZAEZPFFV
It's a big price difference, particularly after the rebate on the 7770. So, two questions: will my son notice an appreciable difference on games ranging from Minecraft to GTA. I'm certainly looking to spend as little as possible, but want to make sure he can play a demanding game like GTA at a decent resolution and frame rates.
And would either work well with my system:
CPU AMD A6-3500 Llano 2.1GHz
Motherboard MSI A55M-P33
4GB DDR3
850 watt Thermaltalke power supply (added after my 500 w blew out after installing the HIS 7770 video card--can't figure out what happened.)
Thanks for any advice.
