Hey Folks,

I'm thinking about buying a new GPU (upgrading from a GTX 560 TI). What do you think about this Evga GTX 760? Will it allow me to play games on ultra settings/including games in the next year or two?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-130-...

Also, I am going to add some extra case cooling with these two fans so I can overclock my i5-3.3 ghz and be more stable: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=35-103-... (I have a hyper 212 heat sink)

My last question: Is it helpful to upgrade RAM? (I currently have 2x4 ripjaws) and was thinking I would get another 2x4. Will this be helpful with gaming at all?

Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jon

16GB of RAM is useless for gaming as of now. Do you have an overclockable i5 2500K or a regular 2500 which cannot overclock beyond the turbo speed easily? The GTX 760 is a worthy upgrade over the GTX 560ti and is close to the GTX 670, which is stated to be around 2x GTX 560ti SLI. The case fans would be a nice upgrade if you want to improve airflow should you have an overclockable i5 2500K and not a 2500.

I have the Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) -- when I overclock to 4.3-4.5 ghz its unstable under stress test, so I'm going to add some more case fans.

What GPU would you recommend is the GTX 760 worth buying?

I won't buy additional ram if it won't be beneficial for gaming

The GTX 760 is one of the best Values for a graphics card currently, I would seriously consider getting it. Also, it would be a good idea to get the updated Hyper 212 EVO and fans linked to cool you 2500K as it will cool far better than the original Hyper 212. By the way, what is your case?

EVGA GTX 760 ACX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
or
EVGA Superclocked ACX (To be restocked soon): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Hyper 212 EVO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I think I'm just going to get those 2 coolermaster fans I referred to earlier. So do you think that GPU will last me for 1-2 years and be able to player high/ultra with good fps?

Yes, the 760 will give you Ultra settings @1080P 2X MSAA for about a year and then about 1 @high, and then it is time to upgrade.
