Hi everyone,

I have ordered this CPU, but no different cooler. Online I read on multiple websites that however the stock cooler is good in terms of cooling, the noise it produces is nigh unbearable. Is this true? Or is it a bit (a lot) exaggerated? I have a headset (Turtle Beach PX21), will I hear it? Also, my family does not like too much noise coming from my room when I'm gaming, as it's usually night, and they want to sleep. So: Do I need to change the cooler?

Solution
I would strongly recommend getting an aftermarket cooler for that cpu. I have the same one with the same processor and I can hear the fan under load though my 7.1 surround noise canceling logitech g35's at some point. Once it gets above the 4k rpm range, which is about idle for it, the noise gets very loud. Under load it hits 6k rpms and gets up in the 55C range. Most of those websites are telling the truth. I would say go for a coolermaster hyper 212 evo for that cpu. You can OC with that fan too.
