Hi everyone,
I've just built my new PC and I have an issue with which I'm hoping to get some help & advice on.
I cannot get the system to remain in a low power state when selecting 'Sleep' from Windows
It powers down for 30 seconds then wakes up again, sometimes straight to the Windows lock screen other times the screen remain black until I hit a key. If I immediately select 'Sleep' again, the screens, keyboard and mouse go off, but the system remains (fully?) powered (fans and graphics cards remain on).
Also sometimes, I cannot get the system to power off when I select 'Shut down' from Windows.
When I experience this, the only way I'm able to turn the system off is by pressing & holding down the power button on my case.
I wonder if this issue is related to the Haswell USB problem? I have no USB devices plugged in except my mouse and keyboard via the BenQ monitor USB hub.
I have updated my BIOS and reset to defaults but still no fix. I do not have Intel Rapid Start enabled (I think) because I could not install it on Windows as currently I have no Hard Disk Drive (only an SSD).
Hardware Spec below:
CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K 3.5GHz
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z87 motherboard (BIOS version 1205 06/26/2013)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 4x 8GB @ 1600MHz
PSU: Corsair AX1200i (not using Corsair Link)
CPU cooler: Corsair H110
Boot drive: Sansung 840 PRO SSD
Graphics: eVGA GTX 780 dual (in dual SLI mode)
O/S: Windows 8 Pro
Case: Corsair Obsidian 900d
Please could someone offer me any pointers to get this resolved?
I am praying that it's not a hardware fault on the motherboard as it will be a pain to take the system apart (especially with the graphics cards as theyre liquid cooled)!
I will gladly supply any more information upon request.
