I have plugged ina 2.0 TB WD drive that shows up in the BIOS. However, in WIndows 8, it is not listed. Do I need to specifically format this drive for Windows to be able to see it?

Solution
Sometimes a format needs to be done. Go into Disk Management and see if you can create a new volume and format it. If the drive is going to be for extra storage you are probably better off formatting it as a logical drive and give it a drive letter. No letter and it will not show up when you try to view it in Computer.

It is plugged into a SATA connector on my ASRock M3A785GMH/128M mainboard. It was an external Elements drive, but I have taken it our of its casing and am using it as an internal drive.
