i have a newly upgraded computer (gpu and psu) but my motherboard and cpu are lacking, i think they are outdated AMD units. is there a good combo for i5 intel for a processor and motherboard for a 200-250 dollar price range (up to 300 if it is a amazing combo)

i have a stock hp pavilion that i upgraded with a new gpu and psu, this is what i have to my knowledge:

Nvidia geforce gtx 760
amd a8-5500 quad core accelerated processor (dieing)
enthusiast series corsair 750W psu

i sadly couldn't find what my motherboard is but i know that it is AMD due to the cpu. i believe that the reason my cpu is dieing is that i just upgraded my gpu and it is not used to the tension of the new power, correct me if im wrong im not a computer genius.

i would like to get the intel but i would have to replace my motherboard and dig into my wallet. would you say it is worth it to go higher, i trust intel much more than AMD to this point.

You don't have to ''dig into your'' wallet to get the intel combo.
You can go with an i3 instead of an i5 and save some money.
Also, you can find some cheap MBO's that are fine.
