When I go to the NVIDIA control panel it says "You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA gpu". If I have the 660M inside my laptop why is it saying I'm using the Intel HD graphics 4000?

What model laptop? It probably has NVidia Optimus running so when you are just browsing or doing low-end tasks, the GPU shuts down to save power.

Didn't see that exact one on MSI site, but from the looks they all use Optimus (http://www.msimobile.com/level3_productpage.aspx?cid=6&...). Fire up GPU-Z or the like, then Furmark or something that puts a real load on the gpu, and see what it says.
