this is my old setup, i put this together in 2008....



Mobo is a ASUS M3N72-D duel Sli,
AMD 940 quad core 3.5 overclocked
CPU, 125 watts
1 ASUS VS247 display
COOLING MASTER CPU COOLER gemin 2 s,
CREATIVE Titanium Fatal1ty sound card
ASUS 560 OC non ti,
9800 GTXs + super clock GPUs PhysX
Cooler Master PSU 750W real power,
1 Samsung ssd 128 g,2 WD HDD 500 G @ 7200 RPMS
MUSHIIN MEM DDR2 2GX2 @ 1066,
ANTEC 300 CASE.....
Windows 7 64 bit
rat-7 mouse
Steelseries Merc Stealth



this is what im looking at. but not sure if i should go with 1155 or 1150 socket, or what mobo for around 160 bucks

that is one hell of a upgrade...... i look in to it more... that mobo is made by ASUS? well that cooled fit my mid tower?

No its an msi mobo really good u cud switch it with a ASRock z87 extreme 6 which is too a really gr8 upgrade

It should all work together, but that cooler is undersized for a haswell chip I would think. Even the double thick 120mm radiator on the h80i is only adequate for mild overclocks. You should carefully monitor temperatures if you are going to stick with that 620.

I run an h80i with a 4770k @ 4.3Ghz and still hit 80C with the fans and pump cranked up. h100 or h110 if you want closed loop or one of the huge air coolers like the Noctua DH-14 would be a better fit for getting to 4.5Ghz.

im going to put a 2nd fan on it. ( and my apartment temperature is around 70 degrees ) ill look in to other coolers, if i have to ill return the 620, and look in to other coolers that well fit my tower
