Hey all,

So I am wondering what is a good processor to get for a gaming computer? I am building a gaming computer for myself and need help finding a good but cheap processor that will work fine on medium and possibly high settings for like GTA IV, star wars the old republic, and other stuff like that. This is a link to the processor I currently have but I would like to possibly find one cheaper if I can and works as good or close to working good as this one http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8065331&Sku=A79-4350

This is the motherboard if you need it

I do have a list of the other parts I currently have so if you need them please let me know.

For just 15 more bucks you get 2 extra cores (or 1 module) to a total of 6 core (3 modules) compared to the one you chose. 6 threaded CPU sound a lot better when when we are talking about future software (games included). Truth is, you can't really go cheaper, if you go cheaper now, then after an year or two you have to change everything. With the FX6350 you have at least few years ahead of you.

Only go with the FX line of processors, and the M5A97 boards. That will give you best bang for the buck.

Try those out and pair it with a 2gb 7850 or 650Ti Boost to give yourself a well rounded machine that will play almost at admirable resolutions
