Is this is a balanced system?

I was just wondering whether or not this system is good or not. I want to play recent games on high-max settings with a smooth FPS (1080p). I'm a bit of a noob so go easy.

CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K 3.5GHz
MoBO: ASUS Z87-C
GPU: 3GB DDR3 Radeon HD 7950
Memory:8 GB DDR3

7950 is a great card! Should be able to max out a lot of games, or at least play them at high settings. However, I suggest trading it out for the 760. It's cheaper and runs on a par with the 7950. EVGA is usually my go-to brand, particularly the ACX cooler - I'd go with that. :)

Hey thanks for the quick reply, i should have mentioned it! I do plan to do some GoPro editing, hence the pricey CPU. Is it still worth upgrading my GPU, or is the 7950 capable enough
