Hi,

i am using ati radeon HD 5670 GPU with my Gigabyte Mother board GA-MA-785US2H 4 GB of RAM and Corsair 550 watts PSU.

Now the problem is my PC boots up but there is no display on the screen when i connect it to the GPU (but there is power running n the GUP as the fans are spinning) But when i disconnect the external GPU HD5670 and connect the monitor with onboard GPU there is a display nd works fine. This problem only started few days back before that the GPU was working perfectly. My system is 2 yrs old.

Please any help is appritiated !!!

Thanks in Advance

Solution
Check that the BIOS is set to initialize the PCIe GPU first. Then re-seat the GPU. Once in a while if they get bumped or vibrate loose the board doesn't recognize an external GPU properly.

it sounds driver related issue to me ..first detach your gpu from your pci express slot..boot up your system..uninstall all amd driver..you can use driver sweeper to make sure all files get deleted.
to be safe side detach your RAM .if you have more then 1 stick then detach all of them and reattach them now shutdown your system..reattach your gpu and install it with latest amd driver...(u need to download latest driver first so keep that in mind)
here is the link for driver

tell me how it ends..

Thank you docxxx but the Problem seems to be with the BIOS tampering now i have set the PCIe as the primary and disabled the on board GPU.

Anyways thank you very much
