GOT GTX770 & Running P8Z68-V LE; Worried about bottle necking

i5 2400 (3.1GHz & 6Mb Cach)
P8Z68-V LE
GTX770
16 Gig Memory
SSD operating system and games
500GB HDD
800W CS Power Supply

Just worried that I am bottle necking my GTX770. Was thinking about z77 boards thinking it will help. Just don't want to hold back gaming card. Also, in future want to run 3D gaming. Any suggestions?

You should have absolutely no problems there. And for the most part, graphics cards don't care about the chipset, as long as the CPU is powerful enough to hold up its end of the job.

It sort of depends on exactly what you are doing and at what resolution. Different tasks (and different games) rely on the CPU and GPU differently. For example, Crysis is very demanding on your GPU, whereas GalCiv II depends more on the CPU. You could run something like PassMark's PerformanceTest and see if there is some huge discrepancy between your CPU and GPU, but I wouldn't really worry about bottlenecking in your system.

I had a FX-6200 that would bottleneck my performance and you could tell right away. COD BlOps II with more that 20 player on screen (like the opening part) and the whole game would lag and changing graphics settings made no difference at all.

As of right now I am playing Skyrim, just wanted to play it in 3D at 1920x1080 res in ultra settings with helix fix and not many mods.

Just worried that my motherboard could be holding my GTX770 back cause of older chipset. But the way it sounds I don't have to drop any extra cash for a new motherboard and/or CPU yet.

No, you should be fine. Skyrim is sort of funky game to call on whether it's GPU or CPU intensive. Plain, vanilla Skyrim usually falls more on the CPU. Start adding the hi-res textures and similar things and the game falls more on the GPU. It really isn't threaded that comprehensively, using 2 threads if memory serves me right. It does have load balancing to split that up across additional cores if present, but only uses two threads at a time.
