hi i"m planing to biuld a pc for 3d max auto cad and gaming so which one is better :
i7 3770k and gtx 660 ti OR i7 4770k and gtx 660.
i know that gtx 660 ti has about 50% more CUDA cores so it should perform better in rendering but i"M not sure about i7 3770k. will it disepoint me in long term?

Solution

I agree. I should've mentioned trying to get a deal with the 4770k and gtx 760 instead. Where are you going to be buying from?

No, the 3770k will not disappoint you in the long term. I would get the 3770k/660ti combo because of the big difference in graphical performance. The difference between ivy bridge and haswell is marginal, especially in threaded applications.

id get a gtx 760 instead of the 660 or the 660ti. it performs better for around the same price as a 660ti. as for the CPU, they perform around the same. the benefit of the haswell platform is that the boards are much nicer to work with as companies such as gigabyte have made great boards with better components and better software
