I've been checking all over google, but everyone in the same situation as myself didn't seem to find a solution.
My front USB ports aren't working right. My mic, PS3 controller, and flash drive are perfectly fine with them. But if I try my external hard drive or phone, the one on the left won't detect it, and the one on the right continually connects and disconnects until the computer won't recognize the device at all unless I restart the whole thing (at which point the entire circus starts all over).
I posted this in components because I'm not sure if it's a mobo issue or a case issue (the hard drive and phone work perfectly fine when plugged into my laptop, kinda rules out a problem with them) or indeed a software issue. Specs as follows
UPDATE: a usb 2.0 hub with 4 ports allows both connection and the transfer of data between my PC and my phone from the left port (haven't tested the right). I guess it stands to reason that this is a problem with USB 3.0 or its header rather than a hardware or underpowered port.
Just made a discovery while desperately trying anything: a usb 2.0 hub with 4 ports allows both connection and the transfer of data between my PC and my phone from the left port. I guess it stands to reason that this is a problem with USB 3.0 or its header rather than a hardware or underpowered port. I'll update the OP to reflect this.
Also a common problem I recently ran into was the ylod which lead to yours truly repairiñg the issue only to create a more sinister one lol.them USB ports stopped working so I didn't freak out but I tried everything and almost gave up.then I searched on google and found my problem I had severed the cuircut to the USB ports located on the top far left side of the board.it made of two cuircuts you can find the pic online.I order some metallic adhesive and repaired the cuircut using a regular needle and some adhesive then heated to dry adhesive. I didn't really expect it to work but to my surprise presto.
