Hello everyone, I want to purchase a new monitor that will suit my needs. I currently have a Dell ST2210 http://www.amazon.com/Dell-ST2210-21-5-Inch-16-Monitor/dp/B002S53CFU/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top, but I'd like to get a 23 inch monitor also in 1080p. I do a lot of gaming but also watch a lot of movies so i'm leaning towards an IPS display because i really like the colors. My GPU is a gtx 560ti so I don't think I'll be having the high frame rates to take advantage of a 120hz TN monitor. Also, my budge it around $300-$400. Any IPS monitors that perform well for gaming and watching movies? And, is it even worth upgrading my monitor that I have now in the sense that I'll notice a difference in quality? Thanks!?

I didn't mean to sound snobby when I send I "only" have a 560 ti. I play a variety of games, many are FPS. But I also play games like Total War and Skyrim. I know TN monitors have better response times than IPS but I love the color reproduction so I'd like to know if there are any IPS that are good for gaming as well and also better than my current monitor which is 1080p.

I'll submit that 1) you're not going to notice a big size difference between your current 22" monitor and a 23" monitor (your link points to a 1920x1080 monitor), and 2) you probably WILL notice the better colors from an IPS monitor. I'd recommend any IPS monitor from a reputable manufacturer (I personally like Dell, ViewSonic and Asus) with a 5-6 ms response time.

If you're unhappy with your current monitor, why?

I just want something that is an improvement upon what I have now. I'm not totally against TN monitors, I just want something that is good for both gaming and movies.

I'm not unhappy with it but I was at the store the other day and walked by some IPS monitors and was really impressed. I'd really like a 27 inch monitor but I think gaming on a 27inch in 1080p up close wouldn't be so good since I think 27inch displays have higher native resolutions. Am I right in this way of thinking?
