Semi-new build won't boot, fan twitches

I've built a mostly new build, keeping my old motherboard and RAM.

I've plugged in everything I can think of, but the system won't boot. Here's my specs.

ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
AMD FX-8350
GALAXY GeForce GTX 770
Cooler Master i700 Power Supply (700W)
Thermaltake Chaser MK-l (Full tower case)
8 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600

When I plug it in and flip the switch, the LED on the motherboard goes on, which is good.

Then, when I press the power switch to boot the system, it doesn't boot. The rear fan (one we installed in place of the one that came with the case) twitches like a fraction of an inch, then nothing else happens.

I just wanna get my build running, can anyone tell me what's wrong? I can provide pictures if needed.

Sounds to me like a possible motherboard issue... could you have knocked it or damaged it during the build?

Check all of the wires again; go around all of your components and make sure that it is all plugged in (be really in-depth).

It is possible that something is 'shorting' - ensure that all screws are firmly in place, the CPU is firmly seated.

It may be worth buying something to check that your PSU is correctly functioning (a voltage meter or something) because that is what I'd say is the issue.

Do get back to us/me :)

Thanks, I'll try all of these that I haven't already. In the mean time, anyone have anything just in case?

I'll definitely be sure to. Thanks for your input :) I double checked and saw that my motherboard doesn't have a USB 3 connector, so the one from my case is sort of just lying there. But that wouldn't stop my computer from booting, would it?

Okay, have you checked that all screws are firmly in? CPU seated firmly?

And is it possible that your computer is taking more power than your home electrical system can handle? I.E. your home power system is stopping power supply (this may be the problem because if your light is flickering it may be that your home elec. system is weak). Could you un-plug and switch off all plugs in the room (and most helpfully, if you can, your whole house) and try your PC then?

Keep me informed :)
