So that is my mothereboard on that page. It has worked about three times when i took it to a computer shop but 99% of the time it wont recognise it. I first assumed it was my gpu which i purchased just recently but at the computer store i got to test the hd 6850 in a different rig and it worked as normal. Also got to put in heaps of modern amd and nvidia cards and they all seemed to work in my motherboard. Is it really possible that my motherboard only rejects this one model of gpu?

Is your card seating right? how big is your power supply is it enough? is onboard video in the bios disabled if you have it make sure it is?

Have you tried your card in another system and to see if it will work fine in it? check all your ram make sure its seated as well what worries the most is if you still have the standard power supply in your system the one that came with it in the first place. Give us some details and good luck.

Onboard is disabled, tried in another system as well as a hd 7750, hd 7850, gtx 650 and gtx 660. All worked fine apart from my hd 6850 in my system. The guy at the pc shop didnt know what could be the reason, he updated the bios and still nothing. He suggests i try sell my hd 6850 and get a more modern card or buy a new mobo.

Just plugged my pc in now after getting back from shop and thought i would try it one last time before i throw in my old gpu (a gt 430) and i got picture! First time thats happened at home. Just downloaded latest drivers and it is asking me to restart my computer to finish installation. Hope it restarts ok. Ill post what happens. Wish me luck!

but it worked in other systems fine thats what is weird. maybe you're right, i will take the risk as long as it keeps going like it is. its a gigabyte windforce oc. the system restarted fine and ive been playing some bf3 and its a huge improvement from what my last card was

I have not have much luck with gigabyte 3 days a 6950 died maybe your luck isn't as mine but mine has excluded there brand when all other have worked something to think about before you replace everything to make card that failing work just my 2 cents ..
