I have a duel wifi router that transmits in 2.4ghz and 5ghz... I am 2 rooms away from my wifi router (2 thin walls between me and wifi router) should i get powerline? or use a good wifi adapter in my desktop for online gaming like BF3/4, GTA, ARMA, Dayz.

which one has lower ping? (i know it depends on distance to server and model of adapter):)

and does the wifi adapter switch to 5ghz automatically? or do i have to do it? (assuming 5ghz in wifi is faster)

THANKS FOR THE HELP! :D

I am not sure what you mean by "powerline" but if that means a wired connection, you will get better throughput and latency with a wire over wifi.

That is if you can run a cable there easily.

I've had a powerline adapter for a while, but I wasn't satisfied. I'm not sure how the adapters are now, my experience was 2 years ago.
I have to say, if your PC is close to your Wi-Fi router, both the wireless adapter of the PC and the Wi-Fi router support 5Ghz (is probably advertised on the box), go for 5 Ghz. You'll be able to reach speeds of over 100 Mbit, if your contract allows it atleast. Keep in mind that the range for 5 Ghz can drop quite quickly, I had to install a ramge extender to solve that problem.
