New System, shuts down after 1.5 sec, No POST

Hello all,

This is my first post on the THG forums. I just built a new PC and its not POSTing. Here's the specs:

MSI Z87-GD65
Core i7-770k
1 G.Skill DDR3 1866 8GB stick
EVGA GeForce 760 4GB
Corsair TX650

I've tried reseating the CPU and RAM and using the integrated graphics. I've double checked the 12V and ATX 24-pin connectors. I've tried using the EVGA card. I've tried all the RAM slots. I've disconnected the HD and optical drive and the front panel connectors (just using the power button on the motherboard). I've pressed the Reset CMOS button. None of this has worked or changed what happens when I try to boot. I've uploaded a video of it booting: http://youtu.be/7Qe8OUPBKuQ

I've also got a GD-65 and I cleared my CMOS by removing the CMOS battery before booting after seeing other people complain in reviews about similar issues like yours. I had no problems after clearing CMOS but others had reported it solved your type of issue. Make sure your power supply is turned off / unplugged then pull CMOS battery and wait a bit. If that gets you to post then enter bios load optimized defaults, restart, get back into bios and config settings. Or optionally update to latest bios and continue on.

Thanks for the quick reply. I removed the CMOS battery and waited 3 minutes. My system is still booting the same way, no POST, same as can be seen in video.

Video is a bit shaky. Well, doesn't seem to be a power issue / power supply / power connector to MB issue since your MB lights are all lit up. I noticed the fan hardly moves before it goes off again and also sounds like a fan is hitting or rubbing on something.

I would double check all connections to all your fans and also make sure all your fans spin freely / aren't getting stuck on stuff. If for example the MB sees your CPU fan not working it won't allow boot.

Yeah sorry about that shakiness. The fans aren't stuck on something, that is just how long the PC runs before it resets. So it boots up for that long and then resets and goes in an endless cycle of that.
