hi all, so i put together this pc (or rather my IT friend put it together, i just bought the stuff) and it ran with no problems whatsoever for the first couple of weeks. but the past month has it lag hard or occasionally freeze even with the windows cpu monitor reading 3% usage and the memory monitor reading 25%; and the HDD has over 50% space left. even loading "my computer" is laggy sometimes. i tried using CCleaner, i ran a virus check, i defragmented but nothing is working. pls help! it was working awesome just last month and i have no idea what happened :(

Solution
Sudden change in performance? Run a virus sweep-in Safe mode.
Then run a malware sweep, AV software does not always do this, Malwarebytes is highly thought of but search 'anti malware' or 'malware removal' for others.

These mentioned test though effective may be difficult to run. I would verify your ram is seated, sata connections and your other peripherals are solidly connected are in and I found Hitman Pro real effective at finding malware... Also have you overclocked? changed any Bios settings? hear Beeps when you power on (and how many)?
Of all these PsychoFist, check your hardware connections then try a good malware utility-- that's my inclination. Good luck--you picked some nice compents
