how the heck are you suppose to tell what the actual temp on the cpu is? o_O
Asrockaxtu says its at 36C but core temp says 12C and speccy says 61C....if its 61C that's gettin a bit up there and might worry me if it goes above like 70C....thats a bit too hot for me even tho i'm water cooling...

Solution
i too have noticed this issue with hardware monitor/amd overdrive. hardware monitor says PACKAGE temp is like 43c on load, whereas amd overdrive says the CORE temp is 56c. it doesnt really matter, because the maximum packet/socket temp for my FX6300 is about 70c (ish) and core temp is about 60c so they're seperated by a similar margin. i believe AMD overdrive uses algorithms to 'estimate' the core temperature so may be a few degrees off. at lower temps, the on-die sensor isn't very accurate but its accuracy improves with load.

hmm I don't think I fully understand what you said but I think I get most of what you said. I am watercooling this so I don't expect it to get anywhere above 40C....if it was air cooled then yes I would expect about 50 to 60C....

EDIT:
Also, how does that answer my question? :p
