I have a problem. I'm running Vista Home premium and am using an Asus P5N-E SLI motherboard. recently I am unable get my windows running. The bios page runs when I switch on the computer but when it comes to the windows load page, it runs then shuts down and run again then shutdown.

Have you tried starting in safe mode? If you get there then please uninstall any recent programs installed. Also check to see if any updates are pending (maybe a update tried to install but for whatever reason failed)

The update is probably something to do with the boot process. What is the update "KB#" and the error you get with the update?

Personally, I would be doing a clean install of Windows at this point. I would suggest a update attempted to happen and it has altered some critical file to the boot process. You may try to use the install media to repair the current install if you need to get some data out of the machine. But I would suggest there is more wrong with the machine than just 1 update or boot file...

No reason why a clean install of Windows wouldnt help. If you need assistance doing that let me know and Ill give you some steps. But its toally software related.
