Clearly I have not done something that I need to, to maximize the benefits of my SSD drive. I have a Precision 390 running WIN 7 under 64bit with 8gigs of ram & a 128gig vertex2 drive. I did a fresh install of windows, no clone, no migration & reinstalled the various programs I use. However my system is running CONSIDERABLY SLOWER.

Ill not bore you with the details of how slow but will ask, what am I nit doing or need to do to resolve this issue? My intent was to wipe the old main "c" drive & use it as a swap drive for Photoshop & Lightroom but I have to fix this sick snail first.

Please advise.

That should read AHCI mode, not ACPI. Also, make sure you have the newest chipset drivers, especially the sata controller.

Will check on the AHCI settings and do the research to determine how to make that happen if it is not & will go to OCZ site to check on chipset drivers. I simply plugged in the drive and presumed that win would make the needed adjustments. My mental mistake.

Thanks for the quick responses

It will be in the BIOS under your SATA or Hard Drive settings. Usually 3 modes: IDE (Compatability) SATA (AHCI) or RAID.

Also, aligning the partition on your new SSD is important for performance. Once the device is recognized, check with OCZ to see how to partition and format the SSD. They may even have a utility you can download to help with that on their website.
