Pages Input/sec causing FPS drops in games

I've been noticing random FPS drops in games from 60 to around 30 to 40 for about two seconds before it returns back to 60. After googling and using perfmon I think I found the culprit. This morning I was running a game, noticed a drop in framerate, and perfmon recorded a spike in pages input/sec of about 3200.

I don't understand why there should be a spike like that. I have 16GB of ram, only about 25% is being used, the drive the game is on is an SSD, and I've turned the page file off.

I haven't been able to find anyone else complaining about this problem on any forum anywhere, which is weird.

Any thoughts?

Ok here are some possible solutions and causes of this problem

Update your GPU driver

You may have a virus use Malwarebytes or whichever anti-virus software you have to find out if you have or not.

change some in-game settings (for example adjust the quality settings and take off unnecessary settings such as AA or depth of field.

Go into your GPU program (for example if you have an AMD card go into CCC) and see what your GPU clock speed and memory speed is on.

Is the FPS drop happening when you actually play the game or is it in the loading screen. If it is in the loading screen then dont worry about it, as long as it isn't effecting your actually playthrough then who cares, graphics card do it all the time.

Unfortunately it's happening in game. I've noticed the frame rate do on loading screens and I agree with you, who cares? Where I do notice it most In game however is in open world first person shooter type games like skyrim and fallout New Vegas. Possibly I'm noticing unannounced "loading screens" while I'm running around outside? I can't imagine though why no one else would be complaining about it though as the frame rate drop causes noticeable screen tearing and jittering and really puts a damper on the immersive experience :-(
